About Jay

Jay Shetty built one of the largest audiences in the world for a subject organizations struggle to talk about without embarrassment: purpose, and what a person does when they do not feel they have one.

On Purpose, the podcast he launched in 2019, recorded sixty-four million downloads in its first year and has since interviewed guests up to and including a sitting United States president. Think Like a Monk, published by Simon and Schuster in 2020, draws on time he spent in a monastic community to set out a practice for a modern working life: how to identify what is actually yours to do, how to manage a mind that will not settle, and how to hold attention in an environment built to take it.

He graduated from Bayes Business School at City, University of London in 2010 with a degree in management science, became an independent content creator in 2016, and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2019. In 2022 he joined Calm, the meditation application, as chief purpose officer. He is based in Los Angeles.

For a corporate audience the value is reach and register. A very large share of any room under forty already listens to him, which means the session starts with trust rather than having to earn it, and the register is calm rather than exhortative, which suits organizations whose people are tired of being told to be more energetic.

He is booked for company-wide wellbeing programs, leadership summits on purpose and culture, and events for younger or distributed workforces, and he delivers in person and virtually. Sessions run as a keynote or as a moderated conversation, and the second is often stronger, since the interview is the form he made his name in.

Booking Jay Shetty: Frequently Asked Questions

What is Jay Shetty's speaking fee?

Jay Shetty's fee is not published here and is quoted per event. It is driven by event date, location and travel, session length, whether the session is delivered in person or virtually, and whether a moderated conversation or audience Q&A is added. Submit an inquiry with your date and audience size for a current quote and availability.

Is the material religious?

No. Think Like a Monk draws on time he spent in a monastic community, but the sessions are built for a working audience and are about purpose, attention and wellbeing in ordinary professional life. Organizations book him for company-wide wellbeing programs and leadership events, not for faith-based ones.

Does he deliver virtually?

Yes, and well, since his audience was built on screen. Virtual and hybrid company meetings are a common booking. Format is a factor in the quote, so include it in the inquiry.

Why book him over another wellbeing speaker?

Reach and register. A large share of any room under forty already listens to him, so the session starts with trust rather than having to earn it, and the tone is calm rather than exhortative, which suits organizations whose people are tired of being told to be more energetic.
