About Bertalan

Bertalan Mesko is a physician with a PhD in genomics who directs The Medical Futurist Institute, and his subject is the gap between what health technology can do and what health systems have actually managed to adopt.

That distinction is what separates his material from general futurism. The questions he works on are the ones that decide whether a tool reaches a patient: how a regulator treats an algorithm that keeps learning, what happens to the clinical relationship when a patient arrives having already consulted an AI, which parts of a physician's work are genuinely automatable and which are being automated badly, and why so many digital health pilots never reach a second department.

He has delivered more than 900 keynotes, including at Harvard, Stanford and Yale, for the World Health Organization, and for the largest pharmaceutical companies. He is a private professor at Semmelweis University in Budapest, an Amazon top 100 author, and one of LinkedIn's Top Voices in healthcare. His work has been covered by CNN, the BBC, TIME, Forbes, National Geographic and The New York Times.

He is based in Budapest and speaks internationally, in person and virtually, which makes him a practical booking for organizations running a global meeting or a multi-site event.

Audiences that book him are usually past the stage of being persuaded that AI matters and are trying to decide what to do about it. The sessions are structured around decisions rather than predictions, which suits a hospital board, a pharmaceutical leadership team or a medical association conference more than a general audience.

Booking Bertalan Mesko: Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bertalan Mesko's speaking fee?

Bertalan Mesko's fee is not published here and is quoted per event. It is driven by event date, location and travel, session length, whether the session is delivered in person or virtually, and whether a workshop or advisory block is added to the keynote. Submit an inquiry with your date and audience size for a current quote and availability.

Does he speak at events outside Europe?

Yes. He is based in Budapest and speaks internationally, and he delivers virtually as well as in person, which is often the practical option for a multi-site or global meeting. Travel and time zone are factors in the quote, so include the location and format in the inquiry.

How is this different from a general AI keynote?

The focus is adoption rather than possibility. The material addresses regulation of algorithms that keep learning, what changes when patients arrive having already consulted an AI, which clinical tasks are genuinely automatable, and why most digital health pilots never reach a second department. Those are decisions a health system faces, not forecasts.

Who is the right audience for this session?

Hospital and health system leadership, medical associations, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and health innovation conferences. It suits audiences already convinced that AI matters and now deciding what to do about it, rather than audiences being introduced to the subject.
