About Daniel
Daniel Kraft is a Stanford and Harvard trained physician-scientist who speaks about where medicine is going, and who has the unusual distinction among healthcare futurists of having built a device that is used on patients.
He is board trained in internal medicine and pediatrics, and completed fellowship training in hematology, oncology and stem cell transplantation, with additional training in aerospace medicine. He invented the MarrowMiner, an FDA-approved system for minimally invasive bone marrow harvest that reaches the marrow space through a single entry site, and founded StemCor Systems around it. Initial human experience, published in the peer-reviewed literature, showed a richer cell product than standard needle harvest.
He has chaired the medicine faculty at Singularity University since its founding in 2008, and in 2011 started Exponential Medicine, now NextMed Health, the conference and community built around convergent technologies arriving in clinical care. He also founded IntelliMedicine, focused on data-driven precision medicine, and chairs the XPRIZE Pandemic and Health Alliance.
He has given six TED and TEDMED talks, and his through-line across them is that the tools reshaping care are arriving faster than health systems are structured to absorb, and that the constraint is organizational rather than technical.
