About Marc
Marc Goodman works on the crimes that new technology makes possible before most organizations have noticed the technology. He is the New York Times bestselling author of Future Crimes, which set out how connected devices, automation and data concentration expand the attack surface faster than defences adapt.
His career runs the full length of the problem. He began as a street police officer, was appointed futurist in residence with the FBI, and served as a senior adviser to Interpol. Over two decades he has worked on international cybercrime and terrorism with INTERPOL, the United Nations Counterterrorism Task Force, NATO and the United States government.
He founded the Future Crimes Institute, chairs policy, law and ethics at Singularity University in Silicon Valley, and is a distinguished visiting scholar at Stanford's MediaX laboratory.
