About Robert

Robert Herjavec is one of the few people who can speak to cybersecurity as a business rather than as a discipline. He founded Herjavec Group in 2003 and built it into a global managed security services company, now operating as Cyderes, with security operations centres in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and India, and revenue above two hundred million dollars.

Before that he built and sold several technology companies, including one acquired by AT&T. He arrived in North America as a child after his family left the former Yugoslavia, and started out delivering newspapers and waiting tables before launching a computer company from his basement, which is the arc his business material is built on.

He has been an investor on ABC's Shark Tank for seventeen seasons and has served as an executive producer on the show. His books Driven, The Will to Win, and You Don't Have to Be a Shark have all been bestsellers.

His keynotes tend to run on three tracks: the threat landscape as an operator who sells defence against it sees it, the discipline of building a company from nothing, and what seventeen years of evaluating pitches has taught him about judging founders, ideas and risk. The combination is unusual, and it is why he suits an audience that is not exclusively technical.

He is booked most often for conferences and corporate events where cybersecurity has to be made legible to a commercial audience, and for sales kickoffs and leadership meetings where the entrepreneurial material carries the session.

Booking Robert Herjavec: Frequently Asked Questions

What is Robert Herjavec's speaking fee?

Robert Herjavec's fee is not published and is quoted per event. It is driven by event date, location and travel, session length, and whether a moderated Q&A, meet and greet or book copies are added to the keynote. Submit an inquiry with your date and audience size for a current quote and availability.

Does he speak on cybersecurity or on business?

Both, and the two are usually the same session. He founded and built a global managed security services company, so the threat material comes from an operator's view of selling defence, and the business material comes from building that company from nothing. Organizers usually choose the emphasis.

What is his cybersecurity background?

He founded Herjavec Group in 2003 and grew it into a global managed security services business, now Cyderes, with security operations centres in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and India and revenue above two hundred million dollars.

What kind of events book him?

Corporate conferences and annual meetings, cybersecurity and technology events, sales kickoffs, entrepreneurship summits and leadership retreats. He suits audiences that are not exclusively technical, which is the usual reason he is chosen over a pure security specialist.
