Malcolm Gladwell

Malcolm Gladwell was born in Fareham, England in 1963 and has been a staff writer at The New Yorker since 1996. Two articles he published there that year, "The Tipping Point" and "The Coolhunt", became the seed of the book that made his name.

The Tipping Point (2000) has sold more than two million copies in the United States. Blink (2005) followed on rapid cognition, and Outliers (2008) held #1 on the New York Times bestseller list for eleven weeks with its argument that success is far more circumstantial than the people who achieve it tend to believe. What the Dog Saw (2009), David and Goliath (2013), Talking to Strangers (2019), The Bomber Mafia (2021), and Revenge of the Tipping Point (2024) followed.

He created the podcast Revisionist History in 2016, which reopens a settled story each episode and asks whether the received version holds, and co-founded the podcast company Pushkin Industries in 2018. TIME named him one of its 100 most influential people in 2005, and he was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 2011.
