Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist and has been an associate professor of neurobiology and ophthalmology at the Stanford University School of Medicine since 2016. His laboratory research covers the development, repair and regeneration of the visual system, and the neural circuits that underlie defensive behavior, stress and fear.
That second strand is the one corporate audiences hear about. Stress and threat response are among the better mapped systems in human neuroscience, which means the mechanisms behind attention, sleep pressure and recovery can be described concretely rather than by analogy, and that is the register his talks work in.
He holds a BA in psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, awarded in 1998, an MA in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, awarded in 2000, and a PhD in neuroscience from the University of California, Davis, awarded in 2004. His awards include the Cogan Award for Vision Science in 2017, a Pew Biomedical Scholarship from 2013 to 2017, and a McKnight Neuroscience Scholarship from 2013 to 2016.
He launched the Huberman Lab podcast in 2021. By 2023 it ranked as the third most popular podcast on Spotify in the United States and the most followed show on Apple Podcasts, which is the reason a research neuroscientist now draws general-audience conference crowds rather than academic ones.
The practical consequence for an event is reach rather than novelty. Much of an audience will arrive already familiar with the podcast material, so the sessions that land best are the ones structured around the organization's own question, whether that is shift work and sleep, sustained attention in knowledge work, or recovery and burnout, rather than a general survey.

Andrew Huberman's laboratory at the Stanford University School of Medicine studies the development, repair and regeneration of the visual system, alongside the neural circuits that underlie defensive behavior, stress and fear. He has been an associate professor of neurobiology and ophthalmology there since 2016.
The Huberman Lab podcast launched in 2021. By 2023 it ranked as the third most popular podcast on Spotify in the United States and was the most followed show on Apple Podcasts, which is why a working research neuroscientist now draws general-audience conference crowds.
A session built around the organization's specific question tends to land better than a general survey, because much of a corporate audience already knows the podcast material. Common framings are shift work and sleep, sustained attention in knowledge work, and recovery and burnout.
